The information service of the Oliy Majlis reports that on January 13, the Senate Committee on the Development of the Aral Sea Region held a meeting to discuss the implementation of the transition to “green” energy in the economic and social spheres, as well as the priority directions of the Development Strategy of New Uzbekistan for 2022-2026.
Experts predict that the world is witnessing a simultaneous reduction in hydrocarbon reserves and an increase in energy demand. So only in Uzbekistan, by 2030, it is expected that the demand for energy will double, which will be a consequence of the development of industry and an increase in the population.
In this regard, the republic plans to significantly increase the share of energy received from water, sun and wind by 2030.
