Senators propose to abolish the need to coordinate state initiatives with Elbasy. This norm is spelled out in the constitutional law “On the First President – Elbasy”, amendments to which were considered by senators at the plenary session of the chamber today, Kazinform correspondent reports.

The deputies also discussed the amendments and additions to the Laws “On the Security Council” and “On the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan” earlier proposed by the Majilismen. According to the amendments, the Elbasy’s right to life-long chairmanship in the Security Council and the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan is supposed to be cancelled.

The deputies of the upper house approved all the previously announced changes of the Mazhilismen, but having proposed their own amendment, they returned the bill for reconsideration to the lower house.
