The Council of the Duma at a meeting on Monday unanimously decided to withdraw from the consideration of deputies a bill on the introduction of COVID-certificates with a QR code for visiting public places. This was announced by the speaker of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin in his Telegram channel .
“The Council of the State Duma unanimously withdrew the bill on QR codes from consideration,” Volodin said.
The Speaker of the State Duma also expressed gratitude for the feedback during the discussion of this bill. Earlier, a post on Volodin’s Telegram channel, dedicated to government bills on the introduction of COVID-certificates with QR codes, received more than 1 million views and more than 700,000 comments. Volodin also noted that the deputies received more than 120,000 official appeals related to the initiative.
“It is important to hear each other. This will help to avoid mistakes and work out the right decisions on the basis of dialogue,” the speaker stressed.
On January 14, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Tatyana Golikova announced that the government, together with the United Russia party, decided to postpone consideration of the bill on covid certificates in the second reading in the State Duma due to the epidemiological situation in Russia. The Speaker of the State Duma also said that the bill would be withdrawn from consideration.
