At a plenary meeting on Wednesday, the State Duma adopted in the third and final reading a bill to increase the minimum wage (minimum wage) in 2022 to 13,890 rubles per month.
In the original version of the bill, it was proposed that the size of the minimum wage would be 13,617 rubles per month. However, by the second reading, Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed an amendment to increase the minimum wage to 13,890 rubles a month. In 2021, the minimum wage is RUB 12,792.
On Tuesday, the State Duma adopted in the second reading the draft federal budget for 2022 and the planning period 2023-2024. The lower house, among other things, supported three amendments by the President of the Russian Federation, which provide finance for the proposal of the head of state to raise the living wage and the minimum wage.
The President’s amendments to increase the minimum wage and the living wage by 8.6% were submitted to the Duma on November 19.
