Yesterday, in Zhanaozen, unemployed residents again came out to protest, which has been going on for the seventh day. They require employment in the oil and gas sector. In the morning, they were visited by representatives of the akimat and local oil companies. The protesters told them that they did not intend to enter into an agreement with any commission and demanded direct employment at Ozenmunaigas due to the plight of their families, Radio Azattyk reports.
The video on Facebook by civil activist Serik Baktybayuly shows that the meeting of the protesters with the deputy akim of the Mangystau region Abzal Mendibaev, the akim of Zhanaozen Maksat Ibagarov and representatives of KazMunayGas and Ozenmunaigas companies took place in the House of Veterans. Representatives of the companies and the akimat said that the 2019 roadmap for hiring at Ozenmunaigas and other oil companies in the region is being maintained and thousands of people are on the waiting list.
