Speaking at the Extraordinary 21st Congress of the Nur Otan Party, Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced a radical restructuring of its work, emphasising that the party should be at the centre of events and processes, the position of an outside observer is no longer acceptable.
“I have put forward a large-scale agenda for the comprehensive modernisation of the country. “Nur Otan” should actively join in its implementation and act as a real engine of progressive transformation and renewal of Kazakhstan. But for this, the party must renew itself. What will be required is not a cosmetic reset, but a radical restructuring of the entire work of the party,” Tokayev said.
He outlined the priorities on which to concentrate.
The first, according to him, is the strengthening of solidarity in the ranks of the party, the consolidation of all the constructive forces of society. Tokayev believes that it is necessary to more actively involve “representatives of various socio-political circles, real leaders who have the confidence of fellow citizens” in the party ranks.
