The head of state, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, speaking at a meeting on the development of single-industry towns, spoke about the recent events in the village of Pidzhim, Almaty region. He stated that there was no interethnic conflict, Akorda reports.
“There was a banal group fight at school. It is unacceptable. Getting injured by students within the walls of the school is a serious emergency! The indignation of our citizens is quite justified. Then there was a hooligan trick of the youth. But such a reaction could and should have been foreseen and prevented. However, this was not done. And in the information space, this incident has acquired a pronounced interethnic color. There was no interethnic conflict here! ” – said Tokayev.
However, according to him, “certain groups of provocateurs and ill-wishers in our country have painted this incident in exactly this way.” At the same time, neither the law enforcement agencies nor the presidential administration took any measures against the provocateurs, which is why Tokayev is very surprised.
