Uzbekistan, a double-landlocked country with almost 35 million people, has been actively promoting the South and Central Asia rail link that will go through its war-torn neighbour Afghanistan, giving it access to the ports of Karachi, Gwadar and Qasim.

The commission fee was cut to 0.027 percent from the current 0.05 percent to introduce a flexible tariff policy.

The financing will help domestic small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), which are responsible for at least 56 percent of Uzbekistan’s GDP, invest in green technologies.

Uzbekistan plans to continue expanding at above-average rates, as the government aims to diversify its economy and increase its export potential.

About a fifth of Uzbekistan’s labour force is employed in agriculture.
