On April 14, the hyakimlik of the city of Turkmenabat decided to lease out the Bitaraplyk culture and recreation park (formerly Druzhba) and the city park located in the Vodnik microdistrict to entrepreneurs. Correspondents of “Chronicles of Turkmenistan” report this.

Tenants must, at their own expense, repair attractions, paths, toilets and restore green areas. In agreement with the khyakimlik, they will be allowed to build summer verandas, cafes, restaurants and small retail outlets in order to reimburse the costs in the parks.

Over the past few years, objects subordinated to the Department of Culture of the city have been leased to private owners. In particular, the cinema “Turkmenistan”, where the “Toy Mekany” (Palace of Celebrations) is now located, and the cinema “30 years of October”, which houses public services.
