Ukraine GDP shrank 4 percent in 2020-Statistics Service
Ukraine’s economy contracted 4 percent in 2020, according to the State Statistics Service, the first such decline after four years of growth, the State Statistics Service reported.
According to the data, gross domestic product fell 1.2 percent in the first quarter of 2020, year-on-year, with a plunge of 11.2 percent recorded in the second quarter, followed by a further fall of 3.5 percent in the third quarter. The decline slowed in the fourth quarter, with a drop of 0.5 percent recorded.
Ukraine saw GDP growth of 3.2 percent in 2019.
The government has forecast GDP growth of 4.6 percent in 2021.
