According to the results of 2021 in the energy mix of Ukraine, 69.7% accounted for electricity generated by power plants that do not have carbon emissions (CO2), which is 6.1% more than in 2020.
This was reported to the United Energy Network by the state company Ukrenergo.
It is noted that the total electricity production compared to 2020 increased by 5.2% to 156.6 billion kWh.
At the same time, the share of generation that produces environmentally neutral energy has increased, namely nuclear, hydroelectric power plants, solar and wind installations. At the same time, the share of thermal generation decreased.
In particular, in 2021 the largest increase was shown by hydroelectric power plants (HPPs), which increased their production by 51.9% to 9.2 billion kWh. 3%, up to 12.5 billion kWh. In third place – the largest in terms of production Atomic generation with a growth of 13.1% – up to 86.2 billion kWh.
At the same time, in 2021 TPPs reduced production by 5.9% to 37.2 billion kWh, and CHPs by 32.7% to 8.6 billion kWh.
