Ukraine plans to obtain loans of at least $ 3 billion to stabilize the financial system.
According to an UNIAN correspondent, this was announced at a press conference by Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Rostislav Shurma.
“We are negotiating financial assistance packages with all our key partners, with all major organizations, either in the form of state guarantees or in the form of direct intergovernmental loans. Canada was the first to announce a $ 120 million aid package, and the European Commission “Today we have held talks with the French government on a similar package,” he said.
According to him, Ukraine should conclude similar credit agreements with all key partners to stabilize the macroeconomic situation.
“Our goal is to form with all strategic partners such packages totaling 3-5 billion dollars, which will be an additional cushion and will be able to guarantee the stability of our financial system regardless of the scenario, how the situation will develop further,” Shurma said.
As UNIAN reported, on January 24 it became known that the European Union has provided macro-financial assistance to Ukraine in the amount of 1.2 billion euros .
