Ukraine’s companies are interested in taking part in construction work in areas of Azerbaijan recaptured by the country’s military last year, the country’s infrastructure minister said.
Vladislav Krykliv, quoted by the Azernews website, made the remarks during talks in Baku with Azerbaijan’s Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov.
Azernews said the two men discussed energy cooperation.
Azerbaijan’s military recaptured large swathes of territory in and around Nagorno-Karabkah lost nearly three decades ago in the conflict with Armenian forces.
Ukraine was Azerbaijan’s second-largest trade partner among ex-Soviet states with a trade turnover amounting to $771.5 million in 2020. Of the total turnover, exports from Azerbaijan to Ukraine amounted to $353 million, while imports from Ukraine amounted to $418.4 million.
