Under the government of Kazakhstan, a commission began to work on the demonopolization of the economy. It is planned that objects unjustifiably privatized in the areas of telecommunications, railway infrastructure, and media assets will be returned to state ownership, the Prime Minister’s website said on Thursday.
“As part of the work of the commission, issues of transferring unreasonably privatized objects in the areas of telecommunications, railway infrastructure, media assets and other industries to state ownership will be considered,” the statement says.
The commission on demonopolisation under the government included the first heads of agencies for combating corruption, financial monitoring, protection and development of competition, members of the Cabinet of Ministers, representatives of the Prosecutor General’s Office and Samruk-Kazyna JSC.
