The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) awarded Georgia a $67 million grant to support accountable governance and high-quality employment growth, the ex-Soviet country’s prime minister said.
The amount is expected to be gradually increased up to $330 million within five years.
The USAID currently implements 36 projects in Georgia worth $260 million.
The new grant will enable USAID to implement projects in different directions, including supporting conflict resolution, agriculture and private sector development, rule of law, human rights, education, environment protection, and civil society, Irakli Garibashvili told reporters.
USAID implemented various projects in Georgia worth over $1.8 billion since 1992.
