Tashkent hosted a conference on “Legal support for strategic reforms: final analysis and new challenges” organized by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan today.
The event, supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), brought together about 150 representatives of Parliament, the Cabinet of Ministers, national and international organizations, including civil society organizations, international experts and the media.
The conference made it possible to analyze the legal aspects of the implementation of the Action Strategy for the Development of Uzbekistan for 2017–2021. As part of this strategy, numerous laws and government decrees were adopted or amended to support reforms and modernize society in Uzbekistan in the economic, political, legal, educational and other areas.
During the event, the participants reviewed progress and trends in the legislative and regulatory spheres, digitalization of lawmaking and other topics. The participants also discussed new tasks and challenges facing the legal community in the light of the adoption of the New Uzbekistan Development Strategy for 2022-2026.
