Uzbekistan has agreed with Georgia, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan to provide discounts for the transit of goods, a Podrobno.uz correspondent reports, citing Aziz Voitov, First Deputy Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade.
According to him, at the meeting held the day before, the president gave instructions to further reduce the transport costs of exporting enterprises.
“Recently, we were able to agree with partner countries, in particular, Azerbaijan and Georgia. Now, goods are delivered from the ports of these countries at 30 percent cheaper. In addition, we were able to agree and reduce costs in the Caspian Sea. There is also an agreement to reduce transportation costs by 50 percent with the ports of Turkmenbashi and Baku,” he said on the air of the TV channel “Uzbekistan-24”.
In addition, Voitov added, ministries and departments are working to open new transport corridors.
