Uzbekistan has abolished import duties on trucks, trailers and semitrailers until January 2025 to support domestic cargo transportation.
The road transportation of cargo is important for the double-landlocked Central Asian nation of 34 million and the country has also been trying to expand railway links in recent years.
According to the presidential decree, zero customs duty rates will be imposed on the trucks that comply with the environmental category “Euro 5” and higher.
In addition, until January 1, 2025, trucks and special vehicles that are produced in the European Union countries and meet the requirements of the environmental category “Euro 5” and higher, the production period of which does not exceed 7 years, will be exempted from mandatory certification for import into Uzbekistan.
