Uzbekistan’s foreign debt at $21 bln as of April 1-Finance Ministry
Uzbekistan’s external debt reached $21 billion or 36.3 percent of the country’s gross domestic product (GDP) as of April 1, 2021, the Finance Ministry said.
Of a total amount of the external debt, $14.9 billion is a debt raised on behalf of the government, while $6.1 billion – under the guarantee of Uzbekistan.
The country’s total debt, attracted under state guarantees in foreign and domestic markets, stood at $23.2 billion or 40.1 percent of GDP.
Domestic debt amounted to $2.2 billion by April 1, 2021.
