Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover falls to $7.1 billion in Q1 2021
Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover totaled $7.1 billion in the first quarter of 2021, $930 million or 11.6 percent less than in the same period last year, the State Statistics Committee said.
Total exports amounted to more than $2.4 billion, imports – to $4.7 billion, resulting in around $2.3 billion foreign trade deficit.
Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover has been decreasing since the beginning of the year due to the fact the Central Asian nation has not been selling gold, one of its main export commodities.
China still leads the list of Uzbekistan’s largest trade partners, followed by Russia and Kazakhstan.
