Georgia’s winter resorts of Mestia, Gudauri and Goderdzi are set to launch their 2021-2022 ski season on Christmas, the state agency for managing mountain resort locations has said.
Mountain Resorts of Georgia announced on Wednesday the three locations – located in the north-western Svaneti province, Kazbegi Municipality in the north, and Adjara province in the west respectively, would open their doors to visitors on December 25 with a range of tracks and infrastructure.
In Mestia, a cable car connection will connect the central part of the town to a nearby resort of Hatsvali, while a brand-new, 1.4 km-long and 1,800-per-hour-capacity ropeway will serve those looking to enjoy routes of Mount Zuruldi.
Four ski tracks, with their 7 km-long routes, will be available at Hatsvali for “skiers of all categories”, the state resort body has said, while the Tetnuldi Peak will feature five cable car links and five tracks, the highest of them perched at 3,168 metres above sea level.
