The Armenian authorities do not intend to discuss the issue of the Zangezur corridor with Azerbaijan, News.ru reported.
This was stated on May 17 at a meeting of the Security Council by the Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
This kind of rhetoric fits well with the course he has taken since the beginning of May, after controversial incidents at the border.
Criticism of Yerevan’s position is also heard from Baku. And, apparently, the current bilateral exacerbation once again poses risks to Russia, for which, unlike the West, the Transcaucasus remains one of the priority regions, News.ru reported.
The Zangezur corridor is supposed to connect Azerbaijan with the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic (NAR) and Turkey.
At the moment, overland communication with them from the Azerbaijani territory is difficult, since the proposed transport route passes through the territory of Armenia. And in the conditions of the May aggravation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and. about. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan did not fail to use this “trump card”.
