Young banker Taleh Kazimov replaces the central bank veteran governor in Azerbaijan
Young banker Taleh Kazimov has replaced Elman Rustamov as Azerbaijan’s central bank governor, a move initiated by the country’s president and supported by the parliament.
Rustamov, 70, was the central bank head for around 30 years. Kazimov, 38, London and Harvard business schools graduate, was the head of PASA Bank, one of the major commercial banks in Azerbaijan, since 2015.
