The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has appointed two judges of the Constitutional Court according to his quota .
According to the President’s Office , candidates for the CCU were selected in an open and transparent competition, in which 22 willing lawyers took part.
“Seven of them were determined by the competition commission as the most worthy and professional. Based on the results of interviews with these candidates, Volodymyr Zelensky identified the two most professional among them,” the statement reads.
Thus, the winners of the competition were the President of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine Oleksandr Petryshyn and Professor of Lviv National University. Ivan Franko Oksana Gryshchuk.
Decrees on their appointment were signed by the head of state on November 26.
“As of today, judges of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine, appointed by the President of Ukraine, have been appointed and may perform their duties in accordance with the Basic Law,” the OP said.
