Sadyr Zhaparov signed a decree “On the direction of the military contingent of Kyrgyzstan to participate in peacekeeping activities on the territory of Kazakhstan.” This was reported by the presidential press service.

In accordance with the decree, it is decided to send the military contingent of Kyrgyzstan to participate in peacekeeping activities for a limited period of time in order to stabilize and normalize the situation on the territory of Kazakhstan.

At the same time, as the presidential press service notes, Sadyr Japarov took into account the decision of the Collective Security Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organization of January 6, 2022 and the resolution of the Jogorku Kenesh of January 7, 2022, and was guided by Article 5 of the Law “On the basis and procedure for the participation of the Kyrgyz Republic in the activity of maintaining international peace and security,” part 3 of Article 10 of the Law “On Defense and Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic,” in accordance with Articles 66 and 70 of the Constitution of the Kyrgyz Republic.
